Server Migration Notice

Dealersip may move dealership websites to a new server to improve performance, security, reliability, and scalability. When this happens, your domain DNS settings must be updated so your website points to the new server IP address.

How to Know if Action Is Required

If your website requires DNS changes, Dealersip will show a warning alert on the home page of your Dealersip account. You may also receive an email or WhatsApp notification from Dealersip support.

If your domain is already pointing to the new server, or you do not see a warning alert on the Dealersip home page, no further action is required.

Required DNS Changes

Update your domain’s DNS settings and point the A record to the new server IP address provided by Dealersip.

  • There must not be more than 2 A records for the domain.
  • The A record must point to the new Dealersip server IP address.
  • If any AAAA records exist, they must be deleted.
  • Old or incorrect IP addresses should be removed from the DNS records.

If aforementioned conditions are not met, then SSL will fail to install on your dealership website.

Steps to Update DNS

  1. Log in to your domain provider or DNS management panel.
  2. Open the DNS Management or DNS Settings section.
  3. Find the A record for your domain.
  4. Update the A record with the new server IP address provided by Dealersip.
  5. Make sure there are no more than 2 A records.
  6. Delete any AAAA records if they exist.
  7. Save the changes.

DNS Propagation

After saving DNS changes, it may take some time for the update to become active across the internet. During this time, some visitors may temporarily reach the old server.

Important

If the DNS settings are not updated before the deadline shown in Dealersip, your website may stop working after the migration is completed.
