Logging In
You log in to Dealersip with the email address and password your account was set up with. The same login works for every Oroo product your business subscribes to. See Central Login System.
Opening the login page
Go to app.dealersip.com in any browser, or open the installed Dealersip app. If you are not logged in, Dealersip shows the login page. The same happens when you open any Dealersip link, or when your session has ended.
The login form sits on the right of the page, under the heading Welcome back.
Logging in
- In Email, enter the email address your login was created with.
- In Password, enter your password. To check what you typed, tick Show Password under the password box.
- If this is your own phone, tablet or computer and you do not want to type the password every time, tick Keep me signed in on this device. See Keep Me Signed In. Leave it unticked on a shared or public computer.
- Press Login, the wide button at the bottom of the form.
What opens next:
- One dealership: Dealersip opens it straight away.
- More than one dealership: Dealersip shows the dealership picker so you can choose which one to work in. See How can I switch between dealerships?
The Google and Microsoft buttons
Under the login form, below the word or, there are Google and Microsoft buttons. They are greyed out and cannot be used yet. Hovering over them shows Not available in your region yet. Log in with your email and password instead.
When login fails
Dealersip shows a Login failed! message that says why:
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| Either email or password did not match our records. | The password is wrong, or the email was typed incorrectly. Check both, or use Show Password. If you have forgotten the password, see Forgot Password. |
| We could not find any account associated with your email. | No login exists for that email address. Check the spelling, or ask your Dealersip administrator which email your login was created with. |
| Your subscription has been expired. Please contact your account manager for more detail. | The email and password are correct, but the subscription has ended. Contact your account manager. |
| We cannot process your request. Please try again. | Dealersip runs an automatic security check (Google reCAPTCHA) on every login, and this login did not pass it. Wait a moment and try again. If it keeps happening, try another browser. |
Limit on failed attempts
A browser gets 5 attempts to log in.
- After each of the first three failures, the message tells you how many attempts are left, for example You have 4 more attempts left.
- After the fourth failure, it warns: You have one last chance to try with correct email and password.
- After the fifth failure, that browser cannot log in for 20 minutes. It shows Too many requests. Please try again after 20 minutes, or use a different browser to login. Forgot Password is blocked in that browser for the same 20 minutes.
The block applies to that browser only. Your login itself is not locked, so you can log in straight away from a different browser or device. A successful login resets the count.
Logging out
- Click the user menu, the person icon at the far right of the green header bar.
- Choose Logout, at the bottom of the menu.
Dealersip takes you back to the login page. If this device was set to keep you signed in, logging out ends that too, and the device asks for the password next time. Your other devices are not affected.
Forgot Password
If you have forgotten your password, Dealersip emails you a new password. It does not send a reset link.
- Go to the login page at app.dealersip.com.
- Press Forgot Password, the link to the right of Show Password under the password box.
- A window titled Reset Password opens. In Email, enter the email address you log in with.
- Press Reset Password.
- Dealersip shows If we find your email in our records, then we will email new password to you. This message looks the same whether or not the email has a login, so it cannot be used to find out who has an account.
- Open the email whose subject ends in Password Reset. It contains your new password. Use it to log in.
- Change it to a password of your own: open the user menu (the person icon at the far right of the green header bar), choose User Settings, and press Change Password in the User Info card.
Things to know:
- Your old password stops working as soon as you press Reset Password. Dealersip replaces it at that moment, before the email is sent. From then on, only the password in the email works.
- The new password applies to every Oroo product you log in to with that email, not only Dealersip. See Central Login System.
- The new password is random: 8 characters, including at least 3 symbols. Copy it carefully, or paste it.
- If the email does not arrive, check your spam or junk folder. Then request a new password again; each request replaces the password again. If the email still does not arrive, contact your account manager.
- After 5 failed login attempts, Forgot Password is blocked in that browser for 20 minutes. Use a different browser if you cannot wait.
Keep Me Signed In
Dealersip normally signs you out after a period of inactivity, and whenever Dealersip is updated. On a phone or tablet, this would mean typing your password almost every time you open the app.
Keep me signed in on this device stops that. Once it is on, the device signs you back in by itself, without the password. It also takes you straight back to the dealership you were last working in.
Turning it on
- Open the login page at app.dealersip.com.
- Enter your Email and Password.
- Tick Keep me signed in on this device. The checkbox sits under the password box, below Show Password and Forgot Password.
- Press Login.
Dealersip now trusts this device. It appears in the list under User Settings → Signed in devices. See Signed In Devices.
In the installed app, the box is already ticked. If you installed Dealersip on your phone, tablet or computer and open it from its icon, the login page ticks the box for you. In an ordinary browser tab, the box starts unticked, and you must tick it yourself.
Do not tick this box on a shared or public computer. Anyone who uses that browser afterwards opens Dealersip as you.
How long it lasts
- The device stays signed in for 90 days from the last time it was used.
- Every time the device signs you in, the 90 days start again. A device you use regularly never asks for the password.
- A device that has not been used for 90 days asks for the password the next time it is opened.
Each device's end date is shown in Signed In Devices.
Which dealership it opens
Every time you choose or switch dealership, Dealersip saves that choice against the device. When the device signs you back in, it opens that dealership directly. If that dealership is no longer available, Dealersip shows the dealership picker instead.
When the device asks for the password again
A trusted device goes back to the login page in any of these cases:
- You log out. Open the user menu (the person icon at the far right of the green header bar) and choose Logout. This ends automatic sign-in on this device only.
- You sign the device out from User Settings → Signed in devices. See Signed In Devices.
- You change your password from User Settings. Every device stops signing in by itself. The only exception is the device you changed the password on: it stays signed in, if it was already trusted.
- The device has not been used for 90 days.
- The browser's data is cleared. Clearing cookies or site data removes the saved sign-in. A private or incognito window forgets it when the window is closed.
- You trust more than 20 devices. Each login can have up to 20. When you trust a 21st device, Dealersip signs out the one used least recently.
- Your subscription has expired. A device signing you in by itself goes through the same checks as a normal login.
- Dealersip detects a copied sign-in. Each time a device signs in by itself, Dealersip changes the secret that browser holds. If an older copy of that secret is used, for example from another browser it was copied into, Dealersip cancels the device's trust at once. Both the real device and the copy then need the password.
Logging in again on the same device with the box ticked replaces that device's entry. It does not add a second one.
