Onboarding
The Onboarding panel appears in the left column of the Dealersip Home page, under a heading marked with a checklist icon. It collects the setup and marketing work that gets your dealership running properly, so nothing important is forgotten in the first weeks.
The green badge at the top right of the panel — for example 7/18 — counts how many tasks you have completed out of the total. It counts every task in every section, including sections you have collapsed.
Sections
Tasks are grouped into sections such as Accounting, Marketing and Website Optimization. Click a section heading, or the chevron to its left, to collapse or expand it.
Each section heading carries two badges on the right: an orange N Pending badge counting the tasks still to do, and a green badge showing how many of that section’s tasks are complete — for example 2/4.
The list of sections and tasks grows as Dealersip grows, so new items may appear after an update. Tasks are set by Dealersip; a dealership cannot add, edit or hide them.
The two kinds of task
Look at the control on the left of a task, because it tells you who completes it.
- A hollow circle means Dealersip verifies the task itself. Do what the task text tells you to do, and the task ticks automatically. You cannot tick it by hand.
- A square checkbox means the work happens outside Dealersip and Dealersip has no way of seeing it. Tick it yourself once you have done it.
Ticking is permanent. Once a task shows as complete it cannot be un-ticked, so tick a checkbox only when the work is genuinely done.
A completed task shows a green tick and its title with a line through it. A task still to do shows its title in bold with a short line underneath explaining why it matters, and often a link. Those links always take you to the right place inside Dealersip — they never open an outside website.
Accounting
Configure Default Accounting Setup — go to Setup and open Accounting Settings. This is where you define the default accounts Dealersip should post to, such as accounts payable and accounts receivable, and the thresholds used for the Business Health calculations. Until this is done, Dealersip has no defaults to work with.
Marketing
The Marketing section covers the connections that put your dealership in front of buyers:
- Connect Facebook Account
- Connect Google Business Profile — your Google Business Profile is one of the biggest sources of local traffic; the Connect it link in the task starts the connection. See Connecting to Business Profile.
- Connect Dealership Website to Dealersip
- Automatic Search Engine Optimization
The first three tick themselves the moment the connection is actually made — connect your Facebook profile or your Google Business Profile and the matching task completes on its own.
Automatic Search Engine Optimization works differently. Search engines have to be informed properly before your visibility improves, and that part runs in the Dealersip backend rather than on your screen. Use the create link in the task to raise a support ticket asking for it to be activated and verified, or contact your account manager.
Website Optimization
Everything in this section is done outside Dealersip, which is why it is a plain checklist. These are the small jobs dealers routinely forget — most often leaving the dealership domain off a profile that thousands of people look at.
At the time of writing the section covers:
- Verify that your Google Business Profile, Facebook page, Instagram bio, LinkedIn page, TikTok profile and WhatsApp business profile all carry the correct dealership website link.
- Verify that all online directories point at the correct dealership website. Incorrect or missing links on AutoTrader, Kijiji, IndiaMART, OLX, CarGuru, Car24 and other directories can quietly redirect valuable traffic away from your dealership, and correct ones build domain authority.
- Share vehicle page links on social media posts rather than images alone. Google sees your social posts, and direct vehicle page links help your website rank.
- Share vehicle page links with customers. Direct links help buyers revisit your inventory later and noticeably increase follow-up engagement — particularly valuable when your domain is new.
- Send Google review requests after every sale. This one is performed on the sale itself: the Sale screen carries an option to send a review request to the customer. See Sending Feedback Request to Customer.
- Display Google reviews on your dealership website, because visible reviews build trust. Review visibility is toggled on the Social Inbox page.
Because the section is a checklist, tick each item yourself once the work is done — and remember that a tick cannot be undone.
The checklist is shared
Onboarding state belongs to the dealership, not to you. When a colleague ticks a task, or completes one that verifies automatically, everyone at that dealership sees it as complete.
Hiding and bringing back the list
If the unfinished tasks are in your way, click Close This Task List, the button at the bottom right of the panel. Home then loads with the list closed, and a Show Tasks link appears at the top right of the Website Activity panel.
Click Show Tasks and the panel comes back and stays back — it remains open until someone closes it again. Both the closing and the reopening apply to the whole dealership, not just to you.
Once every task in every section is complete, the Onboarding panel disappears from Home permanently.
